Mental disorders
are common
and treatable
Mental illnesses affect the brain’s ability to function normally. You have heard the terms – depression, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and schizophrenia. These mental disorders are like any other medical condition; they are common AND treatable. Many of our members, staff and volunteers of NAMI Southern Arizona are individuals who have experience with mental illness because we have a loved one with a diagnosis or one ourselves.
If you or a loved one is struggling with a mental illness, remember – you are not alone.
